Space Exploration: Once a Science Fiction Now a Reality

Space Exploration

A Medium for Uncovering the Mysteries of the Universe.

The Need for Space Exploration

For the benefit of humankind, space exploration is employed to investigate and explore outer space. This is carried out using manned and unmanned missions.

Some of the reasons why space is explored are human curiosity to understand the mysteries of the universe, discovery of new celestial bodies such as planets, stars, and galaxies, search for possible existence of extra-terrestrial life, study of the universe origin, to authenticate the scientific theories developed on the Earth, and economic benefits.

Space exploration became a reality because of improvement in rocket technology and advancement in electronics. Astronomers, policy makers, scientists, engineers, writers and artists, and a host of others contributed immensely to the emergence and success of space exploration missions.

Deep Space Exploration Missions

The Past, The Present, & The Future

Deep space exploration, exploration of the moon, planets, trojans, asteroids, and the edge of the solar system is advancing human existence and scientific discoveries.

Presently, various government space agencies, investors, and private space companies are mapping out strategies for pushing deep space exploration boundaries.

To unlock the hidden treasures in the Universe, several past and present missions have been launched to explore deep space. Examples are Voyager 1, Chandra X-ray Observatory, NASA Insight lander, European Space Agency (ESA) ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter, Parker Solar Probe, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, NASA’s Lucy mission, Europa Clipper mission, and a host of others.

Various planned deep space future missions are JAXA Mars Moon eXploration (MMX), NASA Dragonfly, ESA ExoMars Rover, NASA Draper Lunar Lander, Chinese Space Agency (CNSA) Chang’e 7 mission, ESA EnVision Venus orbiter, etc.
